Harry Brook and Harry Tector have more in common than a shared first name. Their respective starts in international cricket have created English and Irish hope that each will dominate the middle order of his nation's batting lineup for a generation. But more than that, they also share a history stretching back more than five years - one that has given them a set of overlapping memories and deep mutual respect.

Malan continued his prime form this season with a classy half-century that was the backbone of Yorkshire's batting performance as they got to a competitive total after being put into bat. Malan almost batted right through the innings with cameos at the other end although the hosts would have loved to breach the 200-run mark.
